Bringing it back home!

THATS RIGHT BOYS! Not to get all braggy in only my 3rd post but just check the timestamp and prediction i made in my last one. Caps win - Check, Ovechkin with 2 goals - Check. I'm so stoked right now i can barely sit down.

A few notes.

The cardiac caps strike again. Did they really have to let Philly out to a 2-0 lead before they made their move. I mean with so many multiple overtimes, redskins 4th quarter meltdowns, and some of the worst traffic in the country, my hair is gonna be falling out in clumps.

That first goal from Semin to Backstrom to Semin to Backstrom was one of the most perfectly executed plays i've seen in a long time. I remember envying the old Red Wings back in the day because of their crisp passing and shots on goal and now we're the ones causing other teams and their fans distress. I'm also totally enamored with the way Backstrom plays the passing game. He reminds me of Joey Juneo back in the day, only he knows when to pull the trigger.

The second goal which Semin scored was just the best representation as to why he has been the MVP of this series. It's a shame he was injured all year because for my money i put Ovechkin and Semin well ahead of Crosby and Malkin, but i suppose it's just a matter of time before the rest of the league finds that out as well.

What can i say about Ovechkin that hasn't already been said? I'm just thrilled he got the chance to prove to Philly and the rest of the league that he's the real deal. It was only a matter of time before he started pulling out big games and personally i'll take 2 game winners and a game sealer, over 6 meaningless ones any day.

Gotta commend the Caps penalty killing while we're at it as well. That 4 on 3 and then 5 on 3 really scared me, but it was as if the Caps were willing themselves to win. Just picture Gandalf standing infront of the big orange demon (coincidence?) shouting "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" at the top of his lungs. (I know that previous sentence just earned me my "nerd reference" brown belt, but i don't care.)

All in all that was one of the most satisfying win's i can ever remember. I put it up there with Sean Taylor blocking the Dallas Field Goal two Novembers ago as recent great wins go. I'll leave you with one final challenge.

Is there any sweeter sound in the world than 20,000 Philadelphia fans completely silent?
